UAC BOARD MEMBERS
The Board is the supreme decision making organ of Uganda AIDS Commission and it is responsible for providing policy guidelines and strategic direction to the Secretariat in implementation of its mandate. It comprises of a full-time Chairperson and members who are drawn from Government, Non-Government sectors, People Living with HIV and individuals selected for their outstanding expertise. They are all appointed by the President. The current Board is composed of 11 members.
CANON DR. RUTH SENYONYI
Board Chair
Canon Dr. Ruth Senyonyi is a Therapist and Director at Bethel Counselling and Consultancy center, as well as a lay Canon in the Province of the Anglican Church of Uganda, All Saints’ Cathedral in Kampala. She is married to Rev. Canon Dr. John Senyonyi, an ordained priest in the Church of Uganda and they are blessed with four children and seven grandchildren
Dr. Nelson Musoba
Director General UAC ,& Secretary to the Board
Dr. Musoba is the Director General of Uganda AIDS Commission. He is a medical doctor with more than 20 years of clinical and public health experience, He leads a team of experts in coordinating the national multi-sectoral HIV response. He is a member of the National Drug Authority Board and represents the public sector on the Uganda Country Coordinating Mechanism for the Global Fund. Dr. Musoba served more than half of his working life at the Ministry of Health as Senior Health Planner.
Dr. Ahmed Ddungu
Board Member
Dr. Ahmed Ddungu is a good team leader, hardworking, dedicated, results-oriented, organized, with good communication and interpersonal skills and passionate reader with positive attitude. Born in Kyotera District, Dr. Ahmed Ddungu is currently pursuing PHD training at Makerere University. He holds a masters of medicine, internal medicine and bachelors of medicine and bachelor of surgery from Makerere University Uganda.
Dr. Stephen Watiti
Board Member
Dr. Stephen Watiti was born on the 11th of May 1953 in Mbale district, Uganda. Stephen studied medicine at Makerere University Kampala from 1979-1984 and from 1984-1988, he worked at Rubaga Hospital, Kampala as medical officer; before moving into private medical practice at Entebbe Road Clinic (1988-91) and JOY Medical Centre Ndeeba (1991-2004). From 2004- 2013, he worked at Mildmay Uganda, an HIV treatment Centre of excellence before retiring into consultancy work and writing. Dr. Wendo has a wealth of skills and experience in writing about health and science, managing teams, editing, page layout and graphic design.

Board Member
Namara Judith is a highly capable communication and personal assistant, skilled at prioritizing tasks with case. Judith holds a Masters of Arts in Strategic Communication from Uganda Christian University Mukono and a Bachelor’s degree in Library and Information Science from University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka.
