A DIRECTORY OF THE AIDS DEVELOPMENT PARTNERS IN UGANDA OCTOBER 2021

Hits: 3275

Uganda’s HIV and AIDS response continues to receive significant support from international development partners, with over 83% of the total HIV and AIDS spending in the country coming from international development partners. Other development partners are indirectly contributing to the HIV and AIDS response by supporting a wide range of underlying development programmes such as poverty alleviation, social protection, human rights and food security, among others. Therefore, the role of development partners is critical because they directly and indirectly help the country overcome obstacles to fighting the epidemic

The UAC is mandated to coordinate the entire HIV and AIDS response in country. As such, UAC took the initiative to compile a directory of key development partners in the HIV and AIDS response in Uganda in order to promote greater collaboration, knowledge sharing, interaction and transparency. The directory aims at enhancing effective harmonization of development support for HIV and AIDS and health in Uganda, which is in line with the Paris Declaration on Aid Effectiveness (2005), the Accra Agenda for Action (2008), and the UAC Regulations (2020).
