Every year, Uganda joins the rest of the world to commemorate the International Candle Light day that takes place every third Sunday in May. It is on this day that communities stand in solidarity with those who lost their dear ones to AIDS, provide a platform for advocacy and stimulate increased individual resolve and actions to fight the epidemic.
It is the day when everyone is called upon to rise up and face the challenges encountered in the struggle against HIV & AIDS. Since the standard International day for commemoration (the third Sunday of May every year) coincided with the swearing in of H.E the President and Members of Parliament, the date for this year’s commemoration was moved to 27th May 2021, on which a scientific event was held at the Office of the President Conference Hall in Kampala.
